  • Manage entertainment vertical of Social Media companywide, overseeing all entertainment projects from pitch to final report, notably for Netflix and Showtime. This often requires serving as both account director and creative director, while working closely with production in scoping all projects.
  • Lead a team of social media managers and coordinators, developing a variety of skill- and team-building opportunities to increase retention and expand team capabilities.
  • Expanded work with Showtime for 2016 to AOR, inclusive of social media management for all original series.
  • Collaborated with partner agency Art Machine to win two 360 projects with Netflix, strengthening our relationship with this key client as well as internal stakeholders.

  • Develop social media strategy and manage multiple social media accounts for agency clients. This has resulted in a 73% increase in Pinterest followers and a 57% increase in Instagram followers since the start of the year for client Califia Farms.
  • Work with bloggers and tastemakers to expand clients’ brand awareness, including A Beautiful Mess blog.
  • Spearhead social media efforts for pitching new projects, including to HBO and Netflix.

July 2013 to December 2014

  • Develop effective strategies to grow Queen Latifah’s presence across all social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, and Google +. Her Facebook page alone has grown from 1.2M to almost 7M followers under my management.
  • Coordinate with Sony Marketing, Sony Programming, and The Queen Latifah Show producing teams to integrate social media into the show to cultivate and grow our audience.
  • Analyze social media engagement weekly and present reports to Sony Marketing executives and Supervising Producer of Digital, utilizing results to inform social media strategy.
  • Create and manage social initiatives, sweepstakes, and paid promotions to drive tune-in and traffic to queenlatifah.com.
    Create paid marketing campaigns around large initiatives, creating CPC as low as $0.06.
  • Produce and edit backstage content, including videos, photos, and interviews, to engage our audience in “the other 23 hours” and drive traffic to QueenLatifah.com. Interviews include Kelly Rowland, Capital Cities, and Joan Jett.
  • Advise on website development to best serve social media syndication.

Senior Associate Editor – EQAL Media Networks, part of Everyday Health
March 2012 to June 2013

  • Managed all content creation for several high-profile celebrity websites.
  • Developed and maintained relationships with the celebrity partners and their teams, fostering an environment of collaboration.
  • Strategized blog and social media content to increase web traffic and grow the celebrity’s brand, using analytics and social media fan interaction. For ElizabethBanks.com, this resulted in a 168% increase of registered users and a 65% of unique visitors in 2012.
  • Managed social media accounts for celebrity partners on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google + using various social media tools. I successfully launched a Pinterest and Google+ profile for Alicia Silverstone, and in one year grew her following to 158k+ on Google+ and 22k+ on Pinterest.
  • Created bi-monthly social media analytics reports for the Celebrity Influencer Network, determining click-through and engagement rates for Facebook and Twitter. I analyzed which strategies are working best and suggest improvements.
  • Coordinated with internal platform and design teams to develop and launch two new celebrity websites and redesign and migrate three additional sites to a new platform.
  • Published and maintained site content using proprietary CMS.

  • Managed over 50 clients for which I created, launched, and maintained a strategic publicity campaign.
  • Generated weekly client reports to track the results of each campaign and highlight the successes.
  • Attained new business for the company, resulting in the acquisition of 17 new projects, including returning customers.
  • Developed many new and unknown bands, securing them coverage on prestigious online and print outlets like AOL Spinner, Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, Brand X of the LA Times, Billboard Magazine, PopMatters, and The A.V. Club/The Onion.
  • Grew the company’s online presence through social networking and blog content on the company website.

  • Coordinated content with fifteen contributing writers and five photographers over the last four years, including coverage for Sasquatch and Warped Tour music festivals.
